Our Original Winter Wonderland!

We've been blogging about our "winter wonderland" themed open house at The Terrace Club and at our bridal show booth and we wanted to show you where the inspiration came from. December 6, 2008 - Lauren & Jim The Terrace Club, Dripping Springs Texas

Jona Davis with Forever Photography did an amazing job capturing all the details of the day. We also think that lighting really creates that ambiance that you're after. The icy blue light truly makes the design thanks to Ilios Lighting. Lauren & Jim even had "real" snow come down on guests as they entered The Terrace Club.

There's a lot of pictures we wanted to include so be prepared! Jona - we love them all!!

Branches and trees are placed on the front and back of the ceremony area and also along the aisle. They are all snow-flocked and crystals for that extra shimmer and romance!
Suspended candles from the trees created some "warmth" in this snow covered room. In between the trees on the aisle we had white shepherd's hooks snow-flocked with hanging white pomanders to soften the texture against the branches.

Lauren - you looked amazing!

Sarah + Steve :: Santa Cruz Catholic Church + The Driskill Hotel :: 01.03.09

Its been a wild 2009 so far, and we're only one month in! We had the wonderful pleasure to design Sarah and Steve's wedding. Their ceremony was at Santa Cruz Catholic Church in Buda - what an amazing church. It was still beautifully decorated with Christmas decor so we didn't have to do much. The reception was held at the historic Driskill Hotel in downtown Austin. We could not have done it without 36th Street Events - Katherine and Schmitt Photography! As always it was an amazing wedding thanks to those top notch vendors.

We loved how soft this white cymbidum orchid bouquet turned out. We added a white hydrangea base to give it some form and fullness. The bridesmaid bouquets were hydrangea with one orchid kicked off to the side for a little sass.

Kathryn + Burke :: The Driskill :: 12.18.07

Red at the Driskill is always a winner!! I was lucky enought to be working with Sarah Miller with Caplan Miller Events.  Sarah worked at The Driskill for several years prior to venturing into the event Industry with co-worker Courtney Caplan and forming Caplan Miller Events! They are a great team and it has been lots of fun watching them grow so fast! This wedding was Sarah's first event at The Driskill as the outside coordinator!!! She did a perfect job and it was fun seeing her trying to not be "the boss" of the Driskill staff!!! I'm sure it felt wierd to not have their keys and walkie talkie in hand so she could just go grab something from a closet or snap a little button and talk to whom ever she needed in the Hotel in the matter of a second if she needed to!!!

Here are a few photos from Pam Hults with Hults Photography aka a' la vie Thank you Pam!

Kim + Jared :: Star Hill Ranch :: 12.29.09

Ok, I have to tell you... I was secretly a little worried when Kim informed me she was seriously planning her ceremony outside transforming the existing Gazebo at Star Hill Ranch into a Chuppah on the LAST WEEK OF DECEMBER! Needless to say, we were watching the weather channel all week and as we hoped...Texas treated us to an absolutely PERFECT Wedding! Courtney Caplan at Courtney Caplan Events was super duper with the planning and back-up rain/incliment weather plan for this event!!  Luckily we were able to stick with Plan"A". :)
